Katanga School began in 2010 to meet the needs of children who could not afford either government or private school fees. Most of the families in Katanga live in severe poverty. On average they have seven children per family and struggle to keep their children in school. These children become neglected and left to fend for themselves often roaming the streets with nothing to do. Sadly they make trouble in the community or become victims of abuse and exploited.

The vision of the school is to provide excellent academic education to underprivileged children to give hope and inspiration to become a better, productive person.

We do this by offering affordable children’s education in urban slums without prejudice or discrimination through a stable, safe environment conducive towards a child’s healthy, emotional, mental development.

Currently we have 85 children attending our nursery from primary 5 classes. We feed them one hot meal a day and when available supply clothing and shoes.
